A BARREL RACERS PRAYER

A BARREL RACERS PRAYER

Lord give my hands
supple strength
to guide my horse smoothly.
My heart calm courage
to let my horse run his hardest
and do his best.
Protect my horse, and let me
remember,
that he is a living, breathing
partner, and not just a barrel
machine.
Let me love my fellow
barrel racers
and remember that even though
we are competitors,
we are also sisters and brothers.
Let me put every run, and my life
in your hands.

Just A Horse

JUST A HORSE!

From time to time, people tell me, "lighten up, it's just a horse," or,
"that's a lot of money for "just a horse".
They don't understand the distance traveled, the time spent, or
the costs involved for "just a horse." Some of my proudest moments
have come about with "just a horse."
Many hours have passed and my only company was "just a horse," but I did
not once feel slighted. Some of my saddest moments have been brought about
by "just a horse,' and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of "just
a horse" gave me comfort and reason to overcome the day.
If you, too, think it's "just a horse," then you will probably understand
phrases like "just a friend," "just a sunrise," or "just a promise."
"Just a horse" brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust, and
pure unbridled joy.
"Just a horse" brings out the compassion and patience that make me a better person.
Because of "just a horse" I will rise early, take long walks and look longingly to the future.
So for me and folks like me, it's not "just a horse" but an embodiment of all
the hopes and dreams of the future, the fond memories of the past, and the
pure joy of the moment.
"Just a horse" brings out what's good in me and diverts my thoughts away.
I hope that someday they can understand that it's not "just a horse"
but the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being "just a woman."
So the next time you hear the phrase "just a horse" just smile, because they
"just" don't understand.

True Cowgirls Love The Lord Jesus With All They Got

Therefore you have been raised up with Christ, Keep seekining the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above not on the earth. For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ who is our life is revealed then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.

Where the treetops glisten,

and children listen

To hear sleigh bells in the snow

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas

With every Christmas card I write

May your days be merry and bright

And may all your Christmases be white

One of those days.....:\ With out Coffee

Dec 15, 2009
Have you ever had one of those days? Where nothing seems to go right absolutely nothing. Well its been one of those days for me. First I could not sleep last night so I painted the painting turned out good but there went my sleep right out the door. So I woke up bight and early this morning for school, the joy, Well I got up mom left for work so I started my usual routine. But I decided i really needed coffee, so I made some this is something I don't usually do. I always buy my coffee at the gas station, but i Decided to make it this time.... After that I got ready to take a shower and on my way I happened to look out the front door to see our neighbors horse munching out in our hay barn. Ughhh! slip on jeans, boots, coat and hat. The recent snow has made spots around the place slippery and being the Crazy Cowgirl horse lover I am. I didn't want her to get hurt so I walked down to the barn through the snow and grabbed a halter to cache her with. I new the horse well, I had worked with her all summer so I figured no problem she was always and easy on to get. *Yeah right* Between my boots and the snow and her just not wanting to be caught it took me 15 min to get her and put her in our pen. I called the owner who wouldn't be able to come get her till later, so I told them I would just bring her up after school it would just be easier me having anther horse. I didn't have time to take a shower now so I finished getting ready. The went out to start my vehicle, its a older bronco 1993, also called the BEAST. Well it kinda sorta still running it has its good and bad days so I guess this was its bad day. I got in turned the key, It came to life like on a good day, I got out to let it warm up, closed the door. A step away the Beast sputtered then died agian, I climbed back in turned the key nothing, By this time I'm tired and mad at the dumb thing so you start to yell at it like it can totally understand a thing you are saying, So I'm sitting in the cold beast yelling at it cold and mad. For the people who have cars that don't always work you will totally under stand this next part. I start apologizing to it it you know its bad when u start apologizing to you truck.... After fighting with it and getting it to finally start i headed back to the house to grab a few things *Coffee*. After I had started to drive back to school I looked around the cup holders, wheres my coffee? WHERE IS MY COFFEE??? Ugh at home sitting on the counter all nice and warm while i freeze in a very cold vehicle. I didn't have time to go get and didn't have money to buy any up town. So now I'm sitting at school tired my jeans are still wet from this morning and cold. Without my Coffee.

Winter is here!

**Well it seems that winter has finally decided to reach our Montana home, sitting at home before school playing on the computer I glanced out the window to see the big fluffy flakes falling making it hard to see the tree in the front yard. A smile creeped onto my face. Out of exictment I grabed my hat and ran out side to see the flakes hit the ground. Spinning out in the snow mouth wide open catching them. I don't care if I looked like a toatal idiot it was so much! and I bet more then half the people who read this will have done the same thing at some point. And if you havn't and its snowing outside at your house right now get off your computer and go try it. (You will be addicted to it! :) Im at school now and watching the flakes fall out side makes my mind wander, If i could be anywhere it would be outside in the snow bareback on Bella wandering though God's freashly painted wonderland.**

Impressive Suga Bell (Bella)

Bella

Impressive Suga Bell

May 29, 2002

Bella was born when I was nine, she was born at our home to our mare Lady who we sold later. She wasn't realy like a horse more like a big puppy dog that fallowed you around when you went in the pen and would lay down in the grass with you. When bella turned four and i was 13 we started training her. She was willing to learn, very smart, and athletic. She been with us for a wgile now and is part of the family I wouldn't sell her for the world. Even though we had to sell her pasture mate Harley we plan to keep bella and breed her next spring for a foal. Bella and I have lately been traing for barrel racing, she excells at this and loves to practice. I also would like to start her working with cows cause in sure she would be a good working horse.

Here is Bella and two of her buddies Serria the paint and Harley the appaloosa. Serria was a trainie I had and Harley was my other horse which I sold later on.

Bella being silly while we were taking my school pictures.

Bella and I working her backing near our house before school pictures.

Bella and her best buddie nibbles eating dinnner.

Bella On a cold winter day, waiting for her food.

Sunning herself just waiting to get out for a ride

These three are of our ride last summer up twourd the peak near our house.
Bella is also a great trail horse she can be a little spooky around some things but alround is a calm trail horse.

*First Ride In The Snow*

December 5, 2009

My First Snowy Ride of 2009

Snow finally arrived at our home today. A skiff in the morning then making me ready for a nice warm cup of coco. I was ready for the beautiful blanket that covers the ground, but not so much for the 20 degree weather. So I curled up on the couch with the thought of just staying inside and warm watching the day pass by. Glancing out the window snow started to fall slowly, my mind drifted and soon I just couldn't stand it! I had to go for a ride to enjoy the snow. I grabbed nice warm clothes ran out side and saddled up.

The snow was a little scary to Bella who wasn't sure she wanted to be out in it and decided that she was going to go back home. Which didn't happen but we had to work some things out which you can see in the video below. As we always do we looked out for wild life, but all we saw was a little bunny that hadn't changed colors yet and stood out against the fresh new snow. Buddy and Burtiswere with us too enjoying the snow.

Yes the brown bunnish shaped blob in the picture is the bunny. :)
